Holiday Review - Torremolinos

In April, we spent a lovely week on the Costa del Sol in Spain, staying at the Sol Torremolinos Don Pedro. The hotel is actually part of a three-hotel complex alongside Don Pablo and Don Marco, which means you can make use of the facilities across all three hotels — a nice bonus when you fancy a change of scenery for the day.

 

The whole complex was clean, modern, and in a perfect location, literally just across the road from the beach. There were plenty of pools to choose from, each with its own atmosphere depending on whether you wanted something lively or more relaxed. We spent most of our pool time around the larger pool area on the Don Pablo side, mainly because that’s where the pool snack bar was and it seemed to get the sunshine for most of the day — always a win!

 

Our room was on the smaller side, but as we were out exploring most of the day, it really wasn’t an issue. The bathroom was compact too, although the walk-in shower was a great size with a powerful rainfall shower head — important if, like me, you appreciate a decent shower! There was also enough space around the sink for the essential toiletries, which is always helpful.

The location of the hotel complex was ideal for us as it was in a quieter, more chilled area of Torremolinos, while still having plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. There was even an Irish bar right outside the hotel security gates, perfect for an easy evening drink. One of the best things was the promenade that stretches along the coast — you can walk all the way to Benalmádena while enjoying the sea views. As you head further along, you definitely notice the atmosphere becoming livelier… and the drinks getting cheaper too!

I’d definitely recommend Torremolinos as a holiday destination. There’s a great choice of hotels, lovely beaches, and plenty to do whether you want a relaxed break or something a bit more lively. The Sol Torremolinos three-hotel complex is a really good option for all types of travellers, and with Benalmádena just a short walk or taxi ride away, you’ve got even more bars, restaurants, and attractions within easy reach.
