Travel Tip

Check Your Passport’s Expiration Date

It’s important to check the expiry date on your passport as most countries require 3 to 6 months left on your passport from the date of the end of your travels. So if your last day of travelling is 31 January, your expiry needs to be August onwards based on 6 months clearance.

Checking is crucial for the following reasons:

Entry Requirements
It’s important for entry to the country you are travelling to. USA requires 6 months whereas Spain requires 3 months. Check Foreign Travel Advice on [gov.uk](http://gov.uk) for up to date advice/requirements.

Visa Applications
Having a valid, in date passport will help with any visa/travel authorisations applications required for travelling.

Avoid Last Minute Hassles
Make sure to check your passports when planning your travel dates as renewing passports can take weeks or months to process and be sent to you. There are quicker ways but you will have to pay for this.

Preventing Travel Interruptions
It’s important to have a valid passport, in case you need to travel out of the country unexpectedly, it will avoid any delays.

Peace of Mind
Knowing your passport is up to date saves stress and allows you to travel freely and plan your travels smoothly.
