Wray Castle - Lake Windermere
During our stay at Ambleside we ventured out to Wray Castle, which is a medieval castle that overlooks Lake Windermere and part of the National Trust properties.
Unfortunately the castle was closed as it is going through refurbishment so we just had a walk along the lake. It was worth it, as it was a peaceful place to have a walk. The lake is a beautiful place to see, especially as the sun slowly came out behind the clouds and created some stunning scenery.
If you go make sure to check out the café as there is a pretty area outside to sit with amazing views over the lake.
Also make sure to get there early as the car park was nearly full when we left late morning.
