Download Offline Maps - Travel Tip

Make sure to download your maps before travelling.

➡️ It is important before you go on your travels to download any maps that need in case you lose access to the internet on your mobile.

➡️ Avoiding roaming charges is another reason to download using WIFI as you do not want to use up your limited mobile data.

➡️ It helps to save your mobile battery as it’s not constantly pulling data through GPS and networks, which is great if you don’t have access to a charger.

➡️ Loading of maps will be easier as it’s not reliant on internet speeds to load.

➡️ You can pin and save locations that you are interested in and still be able to find them.

How to use on Google:

Open up your Google Maps app and search for the place, for instance I am off to Sorrento soon so searched for this location. Once the location comes up, scroll across where it has the directions button and you should see “Download Offline Map”. It will highlight the area where you can zoom in and out and it will tell you the storage amount that it will take up. Click on Download. To find it when you need it, simply click on your profile image and select offline maps on the menu and select the map you need.
