Ambleside Break - B&B Review

Recently spent the weekend in the Lake District, specifically the lovely town of Ambleside.

We stayed at Compston House, which was a lovely, comfortable B&B. The room was small but prefect size for the two of us, with an ensuite bathroom that has been outfitted with modern facilities. The room had a double bed, wardrobe, dresser with kettle and coffee machine and a wall mounted TV.

The B&B did not have parking but at check in we were provided with a parking permit allowing us to park in some of the local car parks for free. But word of warning the two closest car parks get full and after a day out I had drive around them a few times until a spot opened up. There is a bigger car park about a 5 min walk away which was the back up choice.

You had plenty of choice at breakfast and what we had both mornings was delicious and you can’t beat a home cooked breakfast.

The owners were friendly and welcoming.

Definitely recommend staying here if you venture to Ambleside for a few days.
